Cheaper than those sold at Lowe's and Home Depot. This costs about $10-15 less than a similar Oatey unit that is sold at Lowe's. The only difference is this is bulk pack and have a box and instructions. If you have ever done any plumbing you don't need the directions anyways. This unit does feature 1/2 PEX inlets on the valves (even though the photo shows threaded connections.) The drain line is a 2 inch PVC drain connection. This box is decent but very thin. The straps that connect to the side of the box to the studs are fairly flimsy. For a firm installation you need to add some shims to the back of this unit. I used construction adhesive and shims to attach to the back of the drywall in the wall. The plastic box isn’t very thick, other than that it’s fine.Price was right, and the pex connections didn't leak. Faucets are nice 1/4 turn, and haven't leaked a drip.Unfortunately the mounting is a little flimsy. If you use just the included plastic strips it springs and moves all around like crazy. It worked fine after I shaped and mounted a piece of wood between the studs to screw this to.Also, the drain portion has to be drilled out, so that was annoying. If you've got more time to fiddle around than money to spend, this is still a good buy. If you're looking for simple, "slap it in and you're done", you'll be disappointed. As others have posted, weak plastic box. I have reinforced it with 1x4s hot glued to the back and attached to the rough framing of the wall. Cheap fix but effective. I still do not have drywall up and am wondering if this would actually have helped strengthened it without the reinforcing but by the time it would be up, it would really be a pain to "fix" the problem if it didn't work.Works as expected. I do wish the fittings held their position in the housing better. I'm using it for a hot and cold supply in my garage, so the wiggle is probably more of an issue for me than it would in a more traditional role.Wish the valve handles were a bit larger. Makes it more difficult to reach. Also wish the lip on the front of the box were higher to keep any water that may drip in the box and not allow it to run out the box front and onto the floor. If I had it to do again I would not purchase this box. I have installed and its functionald but there is a "lip" around the drain. If I were to have a drip from the hose connections I fear it would run down the wall not into the drain.Overall, it does the job. It is cheap thin plastic and is hard to keep in place. You have to place the box in the hole in drywall, hook up the plumbing and then try to snap the front on. You really need to brace it other than the cheap brace that comes with it. It does work with 1\2 inch pex. Valves work good.
