shelf is smaller than i had anticipated. but very nice other wise lots of power outlets and the night light is very nice feature.The screw provided to hold it in place does not work with Decora switch plates. Other than that works fine.I had to get things longed up and firmly pressed in, in the direction I planned, then plugged it in, added a few things I now keep there to charge and it all so accessible.One was DOA out of box. Didn’t use it until the return window had passed. Shelf is useless. This is one of those. Items that seems great on web. I love having surge protection without having to manage the additional cabling of a power strip. My kitchen has been a problem for me, though. We have backsplash right up to the bottom of several outlets, so the "normal" surge protector wall outlets don't work because they are oversized and don't fit. This product does not extend below the wall outlet itself, so it doesn't have the issue and solves my problem.I'm super happy with this product. It is now protecting my electronic devices and cleaned up a bunch of counter space in the process. The shelf is a great addition. It let me take an Amazon Echo and a security camera off my counter top and tuck them both out of the way (see photo). I just need to get shorter power cables for them both now.I do wish that there were four outlets on this instead of three, but the four USB ports help alleviate that since I had phone chargers plugged in elsewhere that can now just use these ports instead.Pros:* Fits on outlets that are tight on space below them* Shelf holds plugged in devices so that they don't take up counter space* USB ports mean I need fewer phone chargers plugged into other outlets* LED light is a nice features, but it is pretty dim. It is bright enough to find the outlets themselves, but not enough to illuminate the area.Cons:* Joules protection rating is about half of many other surge protectors, but this only has three outlets so it might be appropriate* Covers two outlets and only provides three back. It would be nice if there was at least four outlets like other surge protecting wall outlets.Overall, I'm very pleased. I purchased two of these, and I will likely end up buying at least two more to use in other parts of my kitchen.This is an awesome tool. It's pretty self explanatory. I use the USB outlets to charge my son's Gizmo Watch a lot. I have started using it to charge power banks that we take on the go for our phones.I give only 4 stars because I slightly disappointed with the spacing of the standard outlets. I can only use 2 of them. I have my Google Hub Max plugged in and the plug for it is so wide that it is too close to the next outlet. So, the middle one stays unused, while the coffee pot is plugged into the 3rd outlet. So far, I haven't needed a 3rd outlet at one time so it hasn't been a problem, but I wanted to share this scenario in case anyone has a wide plug they plan to be using in this. I love the location of the USB outlets, but if I could redesign the locations of the standard outlets, I would put 2 in front, and one on each side to give you 4 outlets. (Also, with that design, my coffee pot plug wouldn't be sticking out over the counter so far. I would prefer to have it sticking out of the side.)One error I made was that I didn't realize it takes up both outlets. We have this in an outlet that we installed with the water protection thing. The unit comes with a screw for you to use when utilizing this in a standard outlets ... Replace the screw in the middle of it with the long screw for this device to secure it. Even without ours screwed in, it still feels sturdy.My outlet is aligned horizontally. While it's true that you can use this product with horizontal outlets, you have to plug it in vertically. You can still mount the platform on top so you can store things there (I put my Echo Dot so I can listen to music as I get ready in the morning). The nightlight with light sensor and auto/on/off switch is good to have. When I have guests, I turn it on so they know where the bathroom is. Otherwise, keep it off. It comes with a screw so you can remove the outlet plate screw and use the included one to keep the surge protector permanently mounted. I have it in a CGI outlet so it's good that the screw is optional. So far so good using it.
